Full Chapters Due: July 01, 2021
Introduction
Applications of artificial intelligence in environmental sensing systems are booming. Environmental sensing systems are complex and unwieldy. Particularly using traditional data processing methods in environmental sensors requires significant time and energy. The rapid advancement in computing technologies, machine learning and artificial intelligence provides a unique opportunity to analyse data and create new sensing platforms in real-life applications. This book provides state-of-the-art information for the uses of sensory systems, and artificial intelligence to provide comprehensive sensing systems that are modular, expandable and robust for use in various environmental areas.
Objective
This book provides new knowledge on applying data science and artificial intelligence (AI) in real-world challenges related to environmental sensing.
Target Audience
The book is intended for graduate students and researchers in engineering (electrical and chemical engineering) and computer science (artificial intelligence and Data processing). The book will also interest students and researchers active in Environmental science.
Keywords:
Smart sensing systems, Environmental sensing, Artificial intelligence, Data processing, Big data analysis, Internet of Things
Example Topics
Application of Data Science in water and wastewater process
Artificial Intelligence for water treatment
Application of internet of things in resource management and recovery
Big data processing in air pollution monitoring
Application of artificial intelligence in design and fabrication of chemical sensors

Remote control of heavy metals in fish farms
Data processing in heavy metal detection in aquatic environments
Challenges and future of data science in sensing systems
Submission Procedure
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit a chapter proposal including the title, list of authors and an abstract of 200 words on or before March 01, 2021. The chapter proposal should clearly explain the mission and contribution of their proposed chapter. Authors will be notified about the status of their proposals on March 07, 2021. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by July 01, 2021. All interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis.
Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication. All proposals should be submitted through email to Dr Mohsen Asadnia (mohsen.asadnia@mq.edu.au).
Publisher
This book is scheduled to be published by Elsevier under the imprint Academic Press, a global information analytics business that helps institutions and professionals advance healthcare, open science and improve performance for the benefit of humanity. This publication is anticipated to be released end of 2021.
